Three new Great Taste Awards for Saxby's Cider in 2021

We have won three 2021 Great Taste Awards for Saxby’s Original, Saxby’s Plum and Saxby’s Rhubarb Ciders. Great Taste is the world’s largest and most trusted accreditation scheme – and is designed to support and promote artisan food and drink producers.

What the Judges had to say in 2021:

Saxby’s Original Cider (1-Star)
This cider has a lovely clear colour, a yeasty nose, very well balanced tannin and acidity and a gentle, floral element. A lighter style but very cleverly balanced. Tannins from the cider apples happily provide an uncloying finish. An easy drinker – one to serve well chilled on a summer's day.

Saxby’s Plum Cider (1-Star)
Clean, bright, copper-bronze appearance. Low plum aroma. Juicy plum flesh leads to a drying tannin that helps balance out the sweetness. Plum and apple last pleasantly on the finish. Pleasing coppery-orange tone and clarity. While the nose carries little hint of plum we did find those fruit tannins and touch of fleshiness on the palate. The sweetness is nicely balanced by sound acidity and soft tannins. There's some pleasant plum character here, working decently in tandem with the apple.

Saxby’s Rhubarb Cider (1-Star)
This cider has a very clear colour and a gentle nose. It is very refreshing and sweet. We would happily drink this on a summer afternoon as it is very refreshing. A genuine rhubarb nose and slight baked rhubarb flavour - juicy and with a pleasing fizz.
